I reside in Brooklin, Maine on a farm that has been in my family for over 250 years. I currently have an MS in Art Education, a K-8 Maine teacher certificate and a Masters of Literacy. I am such a fortunate person to have found my place in education, especially teaching such curious and wonderful students as Brooksville Elementary School has. I am a former art teacher and use as much art as I can to implement into my curriculum. My students amaze me everyday!

I grew up in Brooksville and graduated from Brooksville Elementary Schooland GSA. I went to college at the University of Maine at Presque Isle graduating in 2008. I have worked as a lead teacher for the YMCA in both Ellsworth and Blue Hill, and worked briefly at Child and Family Opportunities. I was an educational technician for two years before becoming the special education teacher here at Brooksville. I am happy to be back at the school I went to! When I am not in school, I enjoy being crafty, baking, being at the beach, spending time with my children, fiancé Jake, and dog Bosco.
Nick Patterson has enjoyed being an artist and art teacher for more than 20 years. He enjoys working with a number of materials, such as painting, pottery, woodcarving, and composite drawing. He also enjoys outdoor activities such as skiing, gardening, fishing, canoeing, and hiking.
Teaching French to Brooksville students is a very rewarding experience for me! I have been a French teacher for over twenty years to students as young as three and and as old as eighty-eight. I love foreign travel, gardening and making things.
Born and raised in Midcoast Maine, Anna has always had an appetite for learning. Her pursuit of a dynamic education and love of language led her to Ecuador, Italy, and Washinton State to earn a B. A. in Public Health and Food Systems. Anna enjoys sharing her love of books and the outdoors here at BES. She also serves up vegetables through the Magic Food Bus and school garden programming. If she's not in the library, you'll most likely find her in the garden, kitchen, or on a trail!

Justine Appel grew up in the vibrant suburb of Montclair, New Jersey (The Garden State!). She moved to Brooksville in 2015 to work at Four Season Farm, and then found and fell in love with BES in 2017 by way of its garden. She finds spending time with BES students to be much like spending time in a garden, and often does both at once. When not at school, she’s usually making bread or pizza at Tinder Hearth, or working in a different garden, or making music.
