Justine Appel

Grades 1 and 2

Justine Appel grew up in the vibrant suburb of Montclair, New Jersey (The Garden State!). She moved to Brooksville in 2015 to work at Four Season Farm, and then found and fell in love with BES in 2017 by way of its garden. She finds spending time with BES students to be much like spending time in a garden, and often does both at once. When not at school, she’s usually making bread or pizza at Tinder Hearth, or working in a different garden, or making music.

Chelsea Wallace

Grades 3,4,5

Chelsea Wallace graduated from the University of Maine at Farmington in 2018. She began teaching third and fourth grade at BES that same year. Ms. Wallace is very passionate about education and teaching children. She studied dance as a child, teen, and young adult, which is where her passion for teaching blossomed. Ms. Wallace also loves reading, writing, gardening, and spending time with her husband, Robert, and their dog Wilma.

Brittany Hale

Grades 6,7,8

I grew up in Brooksville and graduated from Brooksville Elementary Schooland GSA. I went to college at the University of Maine at Presque Isle graduating in 2008. I have worked as a lead teacher for the YMCA in both Ellsworth and Blue Hill, and worked briefly at Child and Family Opportunities. I was an educational technician for two years before becoming the special education teacher here at Brooksville. I am happy to be back at the school I went to! When I am not in school, I enjoy being crafty, baking, being at the beach, spending time with my children, fiancé Jake, and dog Bosco.
